If your rear DVD video screen is blank, black, or your system will not turn on, this ribbon cable can repair your system. This cable connects the screen to your video system. Over time, with repeated opening and closing this cable becomes brittle and can crack, leaving your screen inoperable. Many dealerships will not even try to repair the system, just saying you need a new one. You can repair it yourself using this cable. Works for 3rd row screens as well. This is for DVD video systems in 2007-2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, Ram truck, Chrysler Town & Country, Aspen, Jeep and Volkswagen Routan. It is not for the newer Blu-ray systems. When installing the cable, make sure the exposed cable contacts are facing up or away from the circuit board and it is seated all the way into the connector. You need to apply slight pressure to the cable as you close the connectors to ensure the cable is fully seated. You MUST make sure the cable is even in the connector before putting it back together. When you are closing the white slide locks the cable will try to back out. It is not difficult but it is very important to ensure it is even and fully inserted before you apply power to your system.
